Colin Lewes Hanks was born on November 24, 1977, to Tom Hanks and Susan Lewes. Tom Hanks is obviously a recognizable name because he is widely regarded as one of the best actors in Hollywood history. Susan Lewes was also an actress when Colin Hanks was born, and she worked as a back-end producer, as well. Hanks would grow up alongside his half-siblings Chester, Truman, and Rita Wilson alongside his biological sister, Elizabeth. 

During Hanks' youth, he would attend the Sacramento Country Day School before attending Chapman University. After a short period at Chapman, Hanks would transfer yet again to Loyola Marymount University before ultimately dropping out.
